Nick “Happy” Davis sauntered into Foothills Community Center about a month ago in his black cowboy hat with a huge grin. It seems like he hasn't left here since. By Russ Alman, Communications Director
I had to make sure to squeeze in an interview with Darlene Backlund during early February before she left on her latest trip... to Antarctica! Darlene Backlund moved to the Wenatchee Valley about 18 months ago to be closer to family, including a son in Orondo and a granddaughter and three great grandchildren in East Wenatchee. She also has family in Western Washington. When it comes to mental health, older adults can be more susceptible to loneliness and isolation, significantly impacting their well-being.
If you or a loved one is struggling, or would just like to learn more, join Prestige Senior Living at Colonial Vista Friday, August 25 at 2 p.m. for a free seminar on the topic. Catholic Charities will host the session and offer valuable information and resources to help combat loneliness and isolation, and discuss mental health for older adults. You’ll also be provided with services and tools to lean on in times of need. Please RSVP for the seminar by calling Prestige at Colonial Vista at 509-663-3337 or visiting in person at 601 Okanogan Ave, Wenatchee. |
