Zaylie Doll, Jaylee Hix and Isabella Schultz, sophomores at Eastmont High School, were looking for ideas to compete in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) competition. FBLA is a national student business organization that prepares students from middle school to college age for business careers through academic competitions, educational programs and community service. Students compete at the state level and top students within each category are invited to a national competition.  Carol Prag (right) and other Coloring Group members work on projects in the Coffee Bar area of the Social Hall. The Coloring Group is the newest activity group meeting at Foothills Community Center and also the most diverse. It provides an opportunity for people of all ages and skill levels to work on their art skills in a social environment.
 Sue Jeffries with some of her published works at the Book Buzz. by Russ Alman, Communications Director Members of the Senior Center Writers Group hosted a “Book Buzz” event during lunch on February 28, offering an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the group, talk with individual writers and even purchase printed copies of the writers’ works.
Recently, Jim Tarbert, a longtime member of the group and a former facilitator, and John Gallanis, the current group facilitator, talked about how the group has helped them grow as writers and become published authors. |
