Scheduled Activities

AARP Drivers Safety Classes

​AARP Smart Driver courses provide proven driving techniques and tips to help keep you and your loved ones safe on the road. Plus, you could be eligible for a discount on your auto insurance with course completion.

Additionally, you’ll learn:
  • Important facts about the effects of medication on driving
  • Techniques for handling left turns, right-of-way, and roundabouts.
  • Age-related physical changes and how to adjust your driving to compensate.
  • And much more.

Weekend Dances

Foothills Commlunity Center holds weekend dances throughout the year featuring live bands. Admission is at the door: $7 members, $10 non-members. Please call our office with questions or to volunteer. Check our calendar for the latest schedule.

Fundraisers & Special Events

Senior Singers Performances
Our Senior Singers perform at local senior living communities and other venues throughout the year. Their performance schedule is on our calendar.
Holiday Gift Fair
Our annual Holiday Gift Fair takes place the 2nd Saturday of November at both Foothills Community Center and Foothills Middle School. It also marks the opening of our thrift store's Christmas Cottage. This is our biggest fundraiser for the Community Center.

AARP Fraud Network​

The AARP Fraud Watch Network has many great resources and information on fraud prevention (including tax related) and protection. Visit them online at www.aarp.org/money/scams-fraud/helpline or contact their helpline at 877-908-3360.
Volunteer Attorney Services
​
Chelan Douglas County Volunteer Attorney Services. Low-income seniors can receive free civil legal help from local attorneys. Call 509-663-2778 to find out if you are eligible for free help. Free civil legal services include drafting and updating of wills, powers of attorney, divorce, nonparental custody, bankruptcy, eviction prevention, consumer issues, estate, employment, benefits issues, etc. If we can’t help we’ll do our best to connect you with someone who can.

​Office hours are Monday-Thursday 10am-1pm and 2pm-4pm. Messages will be returned. Se habla Español. Senior will clinic takes place monthly, by appointment only.
SHIBA Counseling
​
Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) volunteers are on hand to help answer any questions you have about Medicare insurance. They provide free, unbiased and confidential assistance with Medicare and health care choices. Contact them at 1-888-452-0731, www.insurance.wa.gov/shiba.

Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center

Mediation is a process where the people in dispute meet with mediators, who guide them through a structured, voluntary, and confidential process to resolve their conflicts. Mediators are unbiased, impartial third parties who provide a safe, neutral environment and promote effective communication. They assist the parties in reaching their own mutually agreeable solution.

The Dispute Resolution Center generally handles the following types of cases:

  • Parenting Plans & Revisions
  • Partnership dissolution (business or personal)
  • Family/Relational improvement
  • Parent/Child disputes
  • Senior citizen issues
  • Small claims court cases
  • Neighborhood disagreements, civil complaints
  • Landlord/Tenant disputes
  • Consumer/Business disputes
  • Government/Citizen disputes
