Great news... Connie Townsend is back!

Connie and the Senior Center have reintroduced their live low-impact aerobics program. Connie is a certified trainer and group fitness instructor who has provided exercise classes for our seniors for many years. Her classes include a combination of light aerobics, weight training, stretch and balance. Join her on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 to 4 p.m. for Vibrant Motion LIVE!

Membership at the Senior Center is required to participate, and the classes are $3 per session. If you haven't already become a members you can submit your application online or apply at our front desk.

​Vibrant Motion (the TV show) continues to air on the NCWLIFE Channel, available on LocalTel and Charter cable, and all previous episodes are available on our YouTube channel for streaming.

The 6th season of Vibrant Motion began running on the NCWLIFE Channel in late February. The hour-long, low-impact aerobics program is the sister show to Vibrant Living, our variety show featuring local seniors and information for the senior community. The show features Connie Townsend, local instructor and personal trainer, as well as special guest instructors in other areas, including yoga, tai chi and dance.

We began Vibrant Motion during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide a way for local seniors and other community members to stay active at home. While the Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center is now fully open and our live exercise classes have resumed, our show remains popular as at at-home alternative.

NCWLIFE is airing season 6 of Vibrant Motion at the following days and times:
  • Mondays, 6 - 7 a.m.
  • Tuesdays, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • Wednesdays, 6 - 7 a.m. and 8 - 9 p.m.
  • Fridays, 6 - 7 a.m.
We also publish all episodes of Vibrant Motion to our YouTube channel in a playlist. Feel free to take advantage of the previous episodes we've posted and play them on your tablet or smart TV. If you subscribe to our YouTube channel, you'll receive push notifications on your phone when we post new episodes.

Hal Turner's wife, Jeanne, surprised him with a 90th birthday party at the senior center last winter, complete with Seahawks-themed cupcakes. She told him she was bringing him in for our Friday morning coffee social hour, but little did Hal know that she had called all his friends and they were there waiting to celebrate his birthday!

Hal served on our board of directors for over 10 years, both as a board member and as chairperson, and spearheaded the project to expand our parking lot.

Hal retired in Wenatchee back in 2008 to be closer to his kids and enjoys playing golf.

The Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center hosts an annual Gift & Craft Fair the second Saturday of November. Due to the pandemic, 2022 was the first time we were able to hold this event in three years.

The fair fills the social hall at the senior center and most of the common areas at the adjacent Foothills Middle School, featuring over 100 booths from local and regional vendors. The fair also marks the launch of our Christmas Cottage in our Second Chance Thrift Shop, containing thousands of new and gently used holiday decorations at thrift store prices. This is our largest fundraising event of the year. All proceeds support operations of the senior center.

Vibrant Motion Exercise Program
The Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center is in production for season 6 of their television shows with an expected premiere date of the first week of February 2023. The shows air on the NCWLIFE Channel.

Vibrant Living is a half-hour variety show featuring segments about programs happening at the senior center, "Senior Spotlights" interviewing local seniors about their background and community activity, and other local organizations that provide services to seniors. The show was conceived as a way to both reach out to the local senior community and engage with the general public, illustrating the diverse offering that the senior center provides.
Vibrant Motion is an hour-long exercise program featuring low-impact aerobics, with special episodes featuring dance lessons, tai chi and other senior-friendly exercises.

Previous segments of the shows can be viewed online on the Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center's YouTube channel. The NCWLIFE Channel also shows reruns of the programs in between seasons.
